Mr. Lutz is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics and has a Master of Science degree in Actuarial Science from Northeastern University.

He worked as an Assistant Group Actuary for John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company in Boston until 1976.  He was then employed as a Consulting Actuary by William M. Mercer, Inc. in both Nashville and Atlanta from 1976 to 1992.  He was a Vice President and Actuary of Brennan & Associates in Atlanta from 1993 until 2000.  From 2000 through 2002 he served as Vice President and Actuary in the retirement practice of Aon Consulting in Atlanta.  As Consulting Actuary with Southern Actuarial Services, Mr. Lutz serves a wide variety of clients, including corporate, multi-employer, and public pension plans.

Mr. Lutz's professional associations include:

• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (F.S.A.)

• Enrolled Actuary under E.R.I.S.A.

• Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries (F.C.A.)

• Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (M.A.A.A.).

In addition, he has served on the Committee to Provide Services to Enrolled Actuaries of the American Academy of Actuaries and on the Program Committee of the Society of Actuaries.
