Southern Actuarial Services Company, Inc. is a Georgia corporation which provides a wide array of actuarial and consulting services to corporate, public and Taft-Hartley pension / benefit plans, and the professionals who serve them.

Southern Actuarial Services was founded in 1998 by Charles (Chuck) T. Carr.  Prior to that time, Mr. Carr had spent his career working with three of the major national actuarial firms, but by then he had concluded that many small- to medium-sized clients were not being well-served.  By increasing hourly rates and with a growing focus on large clients, the national actuarial firms were abandoning interest in the small- to medium-sized client market.  Mr. Carr concluded that the best way to serve this market was to start a new actuarial firm that would focus on the unique needs of each client regardless of size.  And thus, Southern Actuarial Services was born.
